Celebrating 40 Years of Collaboration with the Oriental Bird Club21 October 2024 | Admin Our Creative Director, Peter Creed, has proudly collaborated with the Oriental Bird Club for four decades on their publications, including the BirdingAsia bulletin and Journal of Asian Ornithology (previously Forktail). He began working on the Journal in 1984 and has continued since becoming one of the founders of NatureBureau in 1989. We are delighted that this collaboration is still going strong. Each issue showcases the diverse avian life across Asia, from Indonesia and the Philippines to China and India. BirdingAsia emphasises imagery and conservation-focused content, featuring species like the endangered Spoon-billed Sandpiper and the newly described Wangi-wangi White-eye, while the Journal of Asian Ornithology offers more technical research that appeals to specialists and enthusiasts alike. At NatureBureau, we take in enhancing this experience for readers, supported by the Oriental Bird Club’s organised delivery of content, allowing us to focus on the creative design process. One of the standout features of the Club editors is their timely and organised delivery of text, allowing us to concentrate on the creative process of laying out the publications. Alex J. Berryman, Managing Editor, reflects: "NatureBureau has been an excellent partner throughout the journey of both BirdingAsia and Forktail from their inception 20 and 40 years ago to their current status as leading publications. NatureBureau has been indispensable during these years, consistently delivering high-quality, reliable output, even in the face of challenges like the COVID pandemic that caused the demise of so many other small society journals. I look forward to more fruitful decades ahead!" We are currently working on the latest editions of BirdingAsia (December 2024) and Journal of Asian Ornithology issue 40 to be ready by the end of December.
